Senior Accountant | £28,000 - £35,000 DOE

This role presents a fantastic opportunity to work as a Senior accountant within the General Practice team at Xeinadin Phillip Carroll, a growing and forward-thinking accountancy practice. Our firm provides a wide range of high-quality accounting, financial and business services to both companies and individuals. We are also part of the Xeinadin Group company, an exciting consolidation of over 100 independent accountancy firms, whose mission of collaborating and innovating is carried out daily at Xeinadin Phillip Carroll.

The Senior Accountant will work within the General Practice Team to build a sound rapport with our portfolio of clients and provide an accountancy service and advisory to a high standard. The role holder will ensure Xeinadin Phillip Carroll continues to deliver a wide range of high-quality accounting, financial and business services to both Companies and Individuals, whilst being an integral part of our internal team and working in line with our core brand values.

Responsibilities
  • Managing a portfolio of clients
  • Preparation and submission of year-end accounts to HMRC and Companies House for Sole Traders, Limited Companies and Partnerships
  • Preparation and submission of Corporation Tax Computations
  • Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT Returns
  • Preparation and submission of Confirmation Statements
  • Reconcile client accounting records via Excel or accounting software.
  • Client Payroll; weekly, monthly, and yearly
  • Preparation and submission of monthly CIS returns.
  • Managing and mentoring junior members of the team.
What we look for
  • The role holder must be qualified to ACCA level.
  • At least 5 years experience within a General Practice role.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring junior members of a practice team.
  • Competent user of accounting software such as Xero, Sage and QuickBooks.
  • Knowledge of professional regulations and best practice.
  • Be passionate about customers and service, with a strong will to make a difference.
  • To be self-motivated, prioritising and multitasking effectively.
  • Must be able to communicate with team members effectively.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Excel and good working knowledge of Outlook.
  • Must have a high level of attention to detail.
  • Must be able to adapt quickly to changing business requirements

Service Charge Accounts Assistant | £25,000 - £35,000 per annum d.o.e

This role presents a fantastic opportunity to work as a service charge accounts administrator within the Service Charge team at Xeinadin Phillip Carroll, a growing and forward-thinking accountancy practice. In our service charge department, we assist property management agencies and property owners to meet their service charge obligations and obtain certification of expenditure, which will provide the transparency and accountability required by the regulations.

We are also part of the Xeinadin Group company, an exciting consolidation of over 100 independent accountancy firms, whose mission of collaborating and innovating is carried out daily at Xeinadin Phillip Carroll.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing year-end service charge reviews and accounts
  • Monitor account functions from start to finish
  • Service charge reconciliations
  • Updating Statement of Funds
  • Liaise with surveyors and client accountants regarding readjustments, accruals and prepayments
  • Review and respond to queries from surveyors and client accountants
  • Obtain current knowledge of best practice and RICS guidelines Support and contribute to team meetings.
  • Ensure effective communication with the Service Charge team about key tasks and issues.
  • Liaising with the management and the team on workload and upcoming deadlines.
  • Plan and prioritise workload.
  • Regularly report on current workload, key projects, upcoming deadlines, and personal development objectives to ensure these are achieved
What we look for
  • 12 months minimum experience in service charge (essential) or 1-3 years’ service charge experience (desirable).
  • Competent user of Microsoft Excel and good working knowledge of Outlook.
  • Ability to work efficiently individually and as part of a team
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills
  • Part ACCA/AAT Qualified (desirable but not essential).
  • Be passionate about service charge.
  • To be self-motivated, prioritising and multitask effectively.
  • Must be able to communicate with team members and external clients effectively.
  • Must have a high level of attention to detail.
  • Must be able to investigate issues and report findings concisely.
  • Must be able to adapt quickly to changing business requirements.
